Media streaming service company Netflix, based in California, has just announced that its employees can take “as much time as they want during the first year after a child’s birth or adoption,” said Chief Talent Officer Tawni Cranz on a company blog. That means they can take time, come back to work and leave again, work part time, whatever works for them that first year, all at full salary and benefits.
Netflix already offers unlimited vacation and sick leave time, and now this parallel parental leave policy is official as well.
As other smart companies realize, attracting and retaining top talent is key to their success, and this is certainly a benefit that can help them do that. Said Cranz, “This new policy, combined with our unlimited time off, allows employees to be supported during the changes in their lives and return to work more focused and dedicated.” Yep!
